"These aren't the fancy acrobats you'll find among the Black Daggers. They aren't some masked swordsman who lunges from the dark and cuts your head off with a sword; they're the librarian who strangles you with some fibre wire as soon as you turn your back, the policeman who shoots you for 'resisting arrest', and the stranger on the street who puts a pill in your beverage when you aren't looking. Because they don't want to scare you, they want to kill you."

The Nomads are a group of assassins founded in 2813G.C by Gu'ush Hazzet Njakja Vaisk och the Crescanian Confederacy, as a tool to eliminate enemies of public order and government authority. The Nomads does not officially exist, and were at most an urban legend that sprung up a few years after their founding, but have since died out and been forgotten. Nomad agents specialize in hiding in plain sight, and using many disguises to make their way to their target before eliminating them in a number of inconspicuous ways, such as making it look like an accident, or pointing evidence towards someone else, which greatly sets them aside from the other assassin group under the employ of the government: The Black Daggers, whom all operate in the shadows and wear uniform suits. The Nomads are also an unofficial branch of the VNTK, though they are so in a behind-the-curtains sort of way, with the majority of VNTK employees unaware of the existence of the seclusive organization.

Many precautions have been taken to ensure the existence of the group and the identities of its members stay secret. Just the name is an example, as the group has nothing to do with actual nomads, but is simply called such so that the name would not make it clear exactly what it was referring to. Another method is to not make the assassination seem like an assassination at all, but rather an accident or a simple murder committed by common street thugs. These thugs can be disguised agents, or disposable street criminals hired either by the group itself or by a proxy contractor, as the Nomads do not always carry out contracts using their own agents if stealth and expertise is not an issue. This use of proxies is another way for the Nomads to stay hidden. It is usually done through sending an agent to hire the requiered number of hitmen, anything from street thugs to other professional killers. Once the deed is done, or once the proxy agent fails, he or she is quickly disposed off to prevent any investigation leading further than to the proxy's corpse. Proxies are only used for low-end contracts, however. Contracts with greater risk and greater reward calls for a Nomad agent personally carrying it out.

Although the group officially does not exist, Nomad agents make sure they are able to recognize each other by giving each agent a tattoo on the right side of their neck. The tattoo forms three simple dots that are aligned in a triangle and is made of ink invisible in normal light, but turns black when exposed to infrared light.

Nomads are all incredibly charismatic and suave, but at the same time cold-blooded and highly skilled with most kinds of weapons. They are so simply because it is part of the requirements to become a Nomad. This is so that any agent can talk their way out of any situation just as surely as they can shoot their way out of it. They are also highly intelligent and highly perceptive, so keeping secrets from them and lying to them would be extremely difficult.
