Jako Kaiones, more commonly known as Nero, is a Salchissan mercenary employed among the high ranks of the Blackmountain Industries mercenary company, and is the one in charge of Blackmountain's involvement in the galactic black market. Ruthless, greedy and cruel, Nero is one of the most feared men in the galactic underworld, more due to his intimidating charisma and his cruelty than to his power. Nero enjoys bullying the powerful in the knowledge that his position with Blackmountain protects him from retaliation.

Jako was born on an unspecified location on the planet Salchissa in 2841, and joined the world of thugs and hired guns very early, taking work as a bouncer for a local nightclub in his early twenties, and worked as a bodyguard a few years later. Later on he joined the Blackmountain Industries, where his ruthlessness and effectiveness drawing the attention of his superiors, and he soon found himself quickly climbing the career ladder. However, after having attacked a Crescanian government supply truck falsely believed to belong to a criminal organisation, Jako was hunted by Crescanian authorities. His skills and prestige in the company saved him from being turned over and abandoned, as Blackmountain instead faked his death and sent him off the planet to serve in Blackmountain's illegal branch in the black market, taking the name Nero as his new alias.
