The Edolas Royal Navy is a branch of the Edolas Military responsible solely for naval operations; its roles include ship-to-ship combat, orbital bombardment, the deployment of fighters and bombers and the method of delivery for the Royal Edolas Army. The Edolas Royal Navy fields thousands of warships, most being able to carry fighters, dropships, ground troops and vehicles; and is among the most technologically advanced navies in the galaxy.
Background
The Royal Edolas Navy or R.E.N was created almost immediately after the ability to travel at sub-light speeds to the habitable worlds of Sylvarant, Tethe'alla, and Tenroujima were developed. Originally, it's purpose was to ensure safety from the threat of pirate attacks and Dark Brotherhood assaults; but soon after, as Edoas developed Slipspace engines capable of traversing the galaxy, it's mission changed to mass exploration of nearby systems for colonisation and resources and to search the galaxy for other sentient life.
The development of these ships were paralleled by the development of weapons for these ships, as the secret purpose of the navy was nothing other than to prepare for the inevitable arrival of the Demon King. Nearly all of the technologies were developed using blueprints left behind by the Anari, but the blueprints were often incomplete; forcing Edolas scientists to 'fill in the gap' in regards to several examples of technologies such as the Slipspace Drive and the Baryon Cannon. Eventually, the R.E.N was built into a formidable naval force; still keeping its public mission, but always preparing for its secret one.
