The Hihnorac Incident was a military clash between the Unani Empire and Crescanian Confederacy fought on board the Unanian colony ship Hihnorac. The conflict sparkled the Unani-Crescanian First Contact War and was the war's only conflict.

The conflict started with the Hihnorac, a large Unanian colony ship transporting Unanian citizens and colony building materials, had an error in their FTL-core on their way to a new world to colonize it, forcing them to jump out of FTL-travel in an unknown location to make repairs on the 6th of February 2862G.C. The ship had happened to jump out of FTL on the border of Crescanian space, and the ship was noticed by a passing Crescanian fleet, led by Admiral Kira Waalt. As the ship was intruding on Crescanian space, the Crescanian fleet forbade the Hihnorac from leaving the area, announcing that they would open fire if the Hihnorac fired up its FTL core after it had been repaired.

Admiral Waalt was then given orders by the Gu'ush to obtain the Hihnorac's travel history and coordinate list, which would enable the Crescanians to triangulate the place of the Hihnorac's origins, which was presumed to be their homeworld, as well as find other coordinates important to the Unanians. Once they had obtained this information, the Crescanians intended to launch an invasion of the Unanian Empire in an attempt to conquer and annex it.

The Crescanians sent a dignitary to the Hihnorac to speak to the captain, under the guise of establishing proper diplomatic relations with the Unanians, as well as negotiate their release out of Crescanian space, while in truth it was to trick the captain into giving the Crescanians the Hihnorac's travel history. The attempt failed, and the following night, the Crescanians instead sent a spy on board the Hihnorac in an attempt to steal the travel history directly from the ship's navigation computer. This also failed, as the spy was discovered by some of the Hihnorac crew and was killed.

The next morning, Admiral Waalt spoke with the Gu'ush, and was commanded to obtain the information needed in whatever means necessary, as being the Gu'ush's daughter, Waalt would bring shame upon her father through failure. Waalt was furious that the Unanians had made a fool out of her in front of her father, who was the Gu'ush no less, and ordered the Hihnorac to be borded and all its crew slaughtered, civilians included, seemingly forgetting or taking no note of such an order conflicting with Crescanian regulations and code of honour.

Hours later, on the 7th of February, a force of 10,000 soldiers of the Crescanian HKC boarding the Hihnorac in a surprise attack and opening fire on military and civilians alike aboard the ship. Unprepared for the Unanians' Unatro Val abilities, immediately met heavy resistance and soon started taking heavy casualties. Crescanian forces eventually managed to make their way to the Hihnorac command bridge, only to find out that all flight and coordinate data had been removed from the bridge computer and was being carried by the ship captain. The Crescanians made several attempts to capture the ship captain, all of which failed.

The battle lasted three hours, before the Gu'ush found out what orders Kira Waalt had given her soldiers. The Gu'ush immediately called off the attack and commanded all soldiers to return to the Crescanian fleet, and to allow the Hihnorac to exit Crescanian space. Since Crescanian doctrine says that soldiers are supposed to follow all orders without question, they hold no responsibility for following the orders given, and it is instead the officer who gave the order who shall be punished. Thus, Waalt was arrested, cuffed, and handed over to the Unanians, following a traditional Crescanian punishment for officers giving the order to kill civilians, and has long been thought equal to a death sentence. Waalt was spared, however, and instead sent back to the Crescanians in an attempt by the Unanians to improve Unani-Crescanian relations to help end the war.
