Scarlet Dawn is a privately funded Salchissan armor, weapon and drug manufacturer, security company and mercenary corporation, created in 2848 by renowned mercenary veteran Lita Galza, and has its main base of operations in the city of Taranax on Salchissa. The Scarlet Dawn is one of the corporations with noticeably larger area of trade, dealing in weapons, armor and drugs that they have themselves created, as well as serving as security personnel and hired guns. The drug they mostly make is the popular red powder named Shoxa, which is known to be harmless but still keep the same effects as any other drug. However, this is only true to Croiz, as other races either get severe brain damage or are not affected at all. Despite this, Shoxa is legal on Cusorea and all Crescanian colonies. However, the SD are known to have almost been prosecuted and disbanded in 2859 due to creating and selling illegal drugs to the non-Croiz population. The company has since then officially stopped creating and selling illegal products, but are still known as one of the least law-abiding corporations, which have together with competition from other major mercenary bands such as the Viocola Corporations and Dinera Foundation, resulted in the Scarlet Dawn receiving few government contracts.

Scarlet Dawn operatives are known for being less disciplined and more violent than that of its competitors, and focuses mainly on numbers, resulting in cutbacks on training and equipment. These cutbacks resulted in corporations such as the Viocola Corps to be the more powerful group, even thought they have a lot less operatives. This also made much fewer people buy Scarlet products, which caused the company to lose the economical independence they once had, and now has to import materials and products from other companies, sometimes even from competitors, in order to later sell it. This loss of independence also made people move away from their privately owned colonies and move to government establishments. Since 2861, 70% of SD's colonies have been shut down, mostly civilian settlements, leaving behind almost solely industrial factory cities on worlds not claimed by the government. Many expect the Scarlet Dawn to soon face its end. Yet again, many have expected that for years now.
