The Great Unanian Insurrection was the first recorded conflict in Unanian history following 1172 years after the creation of the Unanian Empire fought by the Unanian Empire and the Numeryan Encarpment over the six colonies of the Unanian Empire. The war ended in total defeat for the Numeryan Encarpment with the Unanian Empire taking large casualties and loss of property.

Leadup

During the buildup to the war, the Unanian Empire had been suffering a period of overpopulation, setting off a wave of colonization towards planetary bodies outside of the Kalia System. Come 1132G.C, the Unanian Empire had recently finished colonization efforts leaving them with a total of six colonies upon which the population was evenly split to reduce footprint on the home worlds of Tyril and Oron.

Pre-War Independence

Come 1142G.C, restlessness about the Governments slowness to adapt governance towards a multiple star system empire began to spread upon the furthest colonies of Meryl and Fiem whom were entering into election period for a new head of government. At the end of this election, the roles had been filled by a Fe'Juk under the name of Par'eem Garim and his adopted human brother Tor Garim through landslide victory. Over the next few years they ran governance slowly turning public opinion on their respective planets against the Unanian Empire. Come 1146G.C with majority votes, the two leaders had gotten together and drafted a document requesting independence which was presented to the Unanian Government. Over the next year, the Unanian Empire had attempted to mend wounds, but after a period of getting nowhere agreed to the terms and allowed the colonies of Meryl and Fiem to secede. Upon the completion of the bills signing the leaders headed back towards their respective colonies and communication was disconnected. With no communication, the two colonies slowly faded out of the public eye.

Behind the Scenes

During the journey back from the independence signing on 1147G.C, the two brothers drafted and signed a joint bill which would bring the two colonies of Meryl and Fiem under a single governance with the two of them retaining equal power. For the following years, the siblings continued to brew mistrust and hatred for the Unanian Empire through lies and deceit. In their wake, they executed several high members of society under the claim of Unanian Intervention and imprisoned members of government under the guise of Unanian subterfuge. Come 1155G.C the pair had succeeded in breeding mistrust of the Unanian Empire amongst the populace and with a majority of politicians either behind bars or executed they quickly took advantage of the situation to move the empire towards a dual-dictatorship under the guise of ensuring no more Unanian interference.

On 1165G.C the dual-leaders had explosives planted on a civilian ship between colonies, the ship which was detonated upon entering the atmosphere of Meryl and immediately afterwards crashed into a housing facility for a total of 10,000 casualties under the guise of Unanian hostilities. With support for the Unanian Empire at an all time low, the duo took advantage of the situation to declare war on the Unanian Empire and put all efforts into military spending.

War time

On 1172G.C the Numeryan Encarpment launched its assault against the Unanian Empire, sending its entire fleet against the Unanian Colony of Tombe where upon entering the system, immediately knocked out all forms of communication then bombarded the colony with kinetic weaponry to level the cities. With the cities leveled, forces moved in to take the populace hostage then detonated a Thermo Bomb on the surface which burned away most of the atmosphere and cracked the planet to its core. By the time that the Unanian Empire had arrived on scene, the Numeryan Encarpment was nowhere to be seen and the entire colony was destroyed leaving behind no evidence of Unanian Habitation other than the crumbling buildings. It was at this point the Unanian Empire entered into wartime for the first time in its history.

Battle of Stability

By the year 1223G.C the Unanian Empire had been pushed back to their home system of Kalia having lost their outer colonies in the war. Damage was equal on the sides of the Numeryan Encarpment who had lost their colony of Fiem in a long winded battle. With both sides down to a single location, the Unanian Empire received information of a final push by the Numeryan Encarpment to finally take over the Unanian Empire. In response to this information, the Unanian Empire sped production on their System Wide Defensive Platforms which they had finished research and development on and launched their own counter invasion scheduled for the same day while their enemy was defenseless.

Battle over Kalia

Come the start of the battle, the Numeryan forces were caught in surprise by the Unanian System Wide Defences which when coupled with the ships left behind for defence, managed to hold them back on the outskirts to far outer reaches of the system for seven days. With communication to Meryl cut and the raiding party facing heavy losses, the Numeryan Forces were forced into declaring a state of retreat back to Meryl.

Battle over Meryl

From the start the Unanian forces managed to catch the Numeryan forces by surprise, immediately taking out their communications network through the initial slipspace insertion, the Unanian Forces then turning to defeat their home fleet by the end of the seventh day and managing to take out the retreating survivors from Kalia on the eighth. With the fighting now over, Unanian Forces opened up direct communications to the Meryl populace by having AIs hack into the Civilian HPC Emergency Broadcast System. Through the message Unanian forces demanded the turn over of the Garim Regime in return for their continued freedom. Negotiation had taken two days with Unanian Forces staying stationed in orbit keeping an eye on the situation closely while taking out any Ground to orbit weaponry which posed a threat to the Unanian ships. By the end of the negotiation, the Numeryan Encarpment agreed to the handover of their leaders under the condition of Unanian Transport. The Unanian Empire agreed to these conditions and sent a ship down which upon landing was caught in a trap of Nuclear Bombs which detonated in every major city in a display which could be seen from orbit. The fallout killing everyone and destroyed the Unanian Transport.
