Supersoldiers

A Supersoldier is a term used to describe a soldier that operates far beyond normal human limits or abilities, beyond that of even spec-ops soldiers such as the Commonwealth CSAS and the Edolas Janissaries. Many empires use supersoldiers as shock troops or heavy infantry, although others utilize them as elite commandos or stealth-based tactical insertion personel.

Supersoldiers are usually heavily augmented, either through eugenics, genetic engineering, cybernetic implants, drugs, brainwashing, traumatic events, an extreme training regimen (usually with high casualty rates, and often starting from birth or a young age), or other scientific means. Occasionally, some instances also use paranormal methods, such as Mana, and/or technology and science of ancient origin. The creators of such programs are viewed in the public eye often as mad scientists or stern military men, depending on the emphasis, as their programs will typically go past ethical boundaries in the pursuit of science and/or military might; for this reason, many supersoldier programs are kept secret from the general public.

Examples of Supersoldiers

The Brain Chargers

Brain Chargers, originally known as the Gravity Children, are Ventus who were part of a program to cure what was seen as a genetic deficiency in Ventus; the lack of a desire to fly. This soon changed to an effort to produce elite soldiers through mechanical and biological augmentation once the potential of these 'genetically deficient' children were found. The Gravity Children program would be the first attempt to meld advanced exoskeleton technology with the soldiers' superior physiques; thus creating the perfect soldiers to aid in ensuring peace across the galaxy. The Brain Chargers are taken to the colony world Tenroujima, and begin their training under both trained military veterans and Saix himself. They endure a great deal of hardship during their first years of training: being placed into situations and drills that push their abilities to their very limit and beyond.

Their hard training is complemented with high-level education, which includes mathematics, science, reading, writing, and military tactics. They are trained until, at the age of fourteen, they go through the biological augmentation procedures. After which they are subjected to the mechanical augmentation procedures, the viral augmentation procedures, are equipped with a personal A.I to increase combat lethality, and are equipped with the VAJRA MK VII Powered Assault Armor; among the most technologically advanced piece of hardware in Ventus hands which can provide a Brain Charger with an incredible amount of protection, speed, and strength all powered by a limited Sakuradite Fusion Generator. While their durability and strength are both extremely impressive, the main strength of a Brain Charger is his speed; the ability to react to anything and everything. It is for this reason they are named "Brain Chargers", for their minds are "Charged" far beyond that of any regular being. They are capable of accomplishing almost any task given to them, regardless of type or intensity; and can therefore be considered an "all-purpose unit".

Crusader Supersoldiers

Super Human soldiers that wear Holy power armour, they are the most elite forces at the New Covenant's command and are meant to do the most seemingly impossible tasks and succeed. They have access to the most powerful weapons and vehicles, and even use different space craft from the actual Navy. They are more specialized as a mobile elite force, outpacing every other special forces in existence. They are highly mobile in their armour, and have reflexes faster than any human, their armour does not inhibit them, because they neurally interface with it, as if the armour was their body, making them far more agile wearing it, if anyone who was not a Crusader tried to wear the armour, they would find it bulky and unwieldy, while a Crusader is capable of feats of speed, agility, and strength while wearing the armour, able to match about any opponent. Their only true weakness is numbers, which rarely inhibits them as they are far too intelligent to deploy incorrectly.
