Power armor is any armor that uses an Exoskeleton of some sort to enhance the performance and protection of the user. The varieties of power armor vary from Empire to Empire, and may or may not see use by them, however the effectiveness of such armor is undeniable, making the common soldier far more effective. Power Armor requires a power source, and for it to be considered armor, it must use metal alloys and or ceramics for armor plating, as well has a self contained power source and usually requires training to use effectively. Energy shielding is not standard to power armor and not a requirement, as shielding can supplement armor adding additional protection to the user. The various civilizations have their own take on the function of power armor and how it is constructed and used.
The following lists of power armor will only include armor that is capable of being used by unmodified sentients, meaning nothing considered a Super Soldier, as the armor Super Soldier units wear is specific to them.
New Covenant Power Armor
Power Armor in the New Covenant has always been around, however its construction, besides for a few groups such as the Crusaders and the Technologis, has never been standardized and had a standardized set up. This left Power armor only to the Rich and influential, as it had to be specially constructed by someone of great technical skill, this did not allow for mass production in any sense of the word.
However recent developments withing the past 475 years a Standardized template was developed that would allow for cheaper power armor to be constructed en masse. This new technology allowed for a larger market to use Power Armor, in fact many Troop Companies train and keep a squad or two of soldiers that use power armor for use in special operations.
The most successful group using this new power armor though is the Dark Watch, which has developed its own line of Power Armor specific to its Organization. To note All power armor also use underlying advanced Fabrics as a final defense, this also adds comfort to the suit, better models typically have better fabric armors and meshes beneath.
- A-45d
The A-45d is one of the first standardized Power Armor suits made for use in the military and by mercs as well that can afford them. It use Plas-Steel Composite frame as well as Ceramic plates contained withing the Chest piece space. This power Armor is more Metal than Ceramic, however it uses very strong alloys in its construction, giving it good defense against solid projectiles, but mediocre defense against energy weapons, which it attempts to make up for with its ablative surfaces. This power armor tends to give the wearer a decent strength boost, but out of all the armor available this is the cheapest, as it is one of the older models. This tends to be used more by Mercs, though some soldiers in the Guardsmen prefer to use it, at least with upgrades to bring it up to par in energy weapon defense.
- A-51b
This Armor while older is still considered top of the Line as it uses some of the most advanced Ceramics and Alloys in its construction. The Armor itself is sometimes nick named the "Mini Crusader" armor, as it is believed to produce protection of the same caliber, while this may be true, the Crusaders larger thicker Armor lasts far longer in a fire fight, and has more supportive systems. The 51b lacks the strength boosting of its predecessors, but it is very light power armor, and has a power source rated to last for over a thousand years, giving it an extremely long life for use. Lacking strength enhancement, it makes up in alloying the wearer to remain rather agile with the maximum possible protection. This suit often finds itself in the hands of Elite power armor trained Soldiers within the Guardsmen, who like the armor for its protection without loss of Agility.
- Mk1 Dark Watch Power Armor
This power armor was one of the first developed by the Dark Watch for its troops, it turned out to have many issues regarding the cost of production, and so it was phased out and only left to specialists who preferred the protection of this heavy powerful armor. The Armor itself uses advance Metal Alloys using Titanium, and Plas-Steel mixes as well as Ceramic coatings and dispersal systems to help lessen impacts. In regards to mobility it doesn't slow the user down so much as it hinders agility, so the user won't be capable of doing any acrobatics, it makes up for this with its extreme strength boost compared to all other Power Armor models, it is often compared to Crusader strength though this isn't true, it gets very close. The suit allows for full movement, so it doesn't hinder reactions or reflexes, but as said previously the wearer won't be doing an acrobatics. The strength of this Armor makes it popular for heavy weapon squads to use, making it easier to carry heavy weapons.
- Mk1 Dark Watch Tesla Power Armor
The Tesla Armor is identical in every way to the Mk1 model, it however benefits from Tesla nodes on the Armor, and an improved power source as well as energy storage. The Tesla nodes boost the output of energy weapons as long as they have a tesla node mod attached to them, and the suit can recharge Charge packs on the go for Laser weapons. The Tesla Nodes also provide a passive Magnetic field that lessens the Impact of metallic projectiles, and helps to disperse plasma and accelerated particles, improving its performance against projectiles that can be manipulated by magnetism. This passive field is not a force field of any kind though, and does not go down if an impact is to great for it, it simply acts as a buffer that slows metal projectiles and helps the armor disperse magnetically affected energy weapons except for laser weapons. For other weapons the already heavy armor itself must be entirely depended on, and the armor is potent.
- Mk2 Dark Watch Power Armor
The Mk2 can be considered an improvement to the previous model in terms of price of production, the Mk2 uses primarily advanced Ceramics lighter alloys in its construction, in terms of defense it can be compared to an upgraded model of the A-45d, but lighter and sleeker. This suit though does not have thee strength increase of the previous model, and it sacrifices the higher protection of the previous model for ease of construction as well as improved agility. The easier to make ceramics also allow for quick part replacement and repairs.
- Mk2 Tesla Dark Watch Power Armor
This model is Identical to the standard Mk2 except for heavier Shoulder guards, improving physical protection. The Armor features a more streamlined version of the Tesla Nodes, and has a lower quality but cheaper to replace. The Field generated has the same qualities as the Mk1 Tesla armor, and also boosts the output of Energy Weapons with an appropriate Tesla Mod.
- Dark Watch FireStorm Power Armor
The Dark Watch Firestorm Power Armor is the Epitome of the Dark Watches Armor research and development containing some of the most advanced systems available to mass produce. In terms of protection value it equates to the A-51b, but relies on having a bit more armor and less agility. Unlike the 51b it is more capable of wading through enemy fire, due it having more armor, it just suffers in agility some what. The FireStorm though has several advanced systems making it very heat resistant and good at dispersing directed energy from vital areas through micro gel channels that can catch accelerated particles as well as exchanged heat to several heat sinks the suit has. This makes the Armor excellent protection against Particle weapons and plasma, while it relies on its advanced alloys and ceramics to stop accelerated rounds, lasers, and traditional projectiles. This armor is the new standard for heavy troops within the Dark Watch, replacing the Mk1 as a favorite and very hard to acquire outside of the organization. Many of the features of the suit are not fully known and it seems to be capable of accepting modifications that have yet to be developed, or seen by the public at large.

Edolas Power Armor
Janissary Semi-Powered Infiltration Armor
The Janissary SPI Armor is a suit of powered armor created for use with Edolas Janissaries. Though far more advanced than standard Edolas infantry body armor, it is far less advanced and less powerful than the VAJRA Powered Assault Armor used by the Brain Chargers. It's main advantage is that it's drastically cheaper to produce than the VAJRA armor, however. The SPI armor was designed with an emphasis on stealth rather than on raw power. It features special Active Camouflage systems for use in battlefield situations, but the systems are imperfect and often overloaded by bright flashes or splashes of enemy plasma. It has often been described as "part legionnaire mail, part tactical body armor, and part chameleon".
Its semi-powered nature is due to the fact that the suit gives a very small increase in physical strength, only slightly increasing the standard physical abilities of the user. Defence-wise, the armor comes with a Radiant Wave Shielding System which is of a higher quality than in standard infantry armor, is outer-armored with a mixture of ceramics and a titanium alloy, and is innerly-armored with a cushioning layer of liquid nanocrystals which provide more ballistic protection than three centimetres of Kevlar diamond weave while being much lighter. The active camouflage systems, however, cannot be used at the same time as the shielding due to power constraints; unlike the VAJRA armor.
The suit finds its use mostly with the Janissaries, but variants of the suit have been leaking out on the black market due to retired Janissaries selling their suits to eager buyers and manufacturers. It is currently among the highest-end armor available in the galactic market due to its advanced systems and defensive capabilities, but due to the difficulty of reproducing it few very merchants are capable of finding and selling it.
