Lacrima System
Lacrima.jpg

Lacrima is the large star that gave name to the home system of The Kingdom of Edolas. It's size is somewhat bigger than Earth's Sol, but not much bigger. Oddly enough, despite the fact that it is a blue star and should rightly be tens of thousands of degrees hotter than Sol, it only burns with 7500 degrees Celsius; as compared to Sol's 6000 degrees. Another strange occurrence is that normally blue stars emit large amounts of UV radiation, making planets in it's gravitational field unsuitable for many kinds of life; this is not the case with Lacrima, as the levels of UV radiation that it emits are actually less powerful than Sol's. The reason for this is believed to be the same reason why the heart-shaped moon of Extalia, Kingdom Hearts, acts like a normal moon would despite it's shape; The Ancients made it so.

Aside from Extalia, Lacrima has eight more planets circling it: Saudia, Sylvarant, Tethe'alla, Tenroujima, Khamis, Sakurajima, Nablus, and Oceanus. The name Lacrima originates from the Latin word for tear: Lācrima.
