Pre-War Independence
Come 1142G.C, restlessness about the Governments slowness to adapt governance towards a multiple star system empire began to spread upon the furthest colonies of Meryl and Fiem whom were entering into election period for a new head of government. At the end of this election, the roles had been filled by a Fe'Juk under the name of Par'eem Garim and his adopted human brother Tor Garim through landslide victory. Over the next few years they ran governance slowly turning public opinion on their respective planets against the Unanian Empire. Come 1146G.C with majority votes, the two leaders had gotten together and drafted a document requesting independence which was presented to the Unanian Government. Over the next year, the Unanian Empire had attempted to mend wounds, but after a period of getting nowhere agreed to the terms and allowed the colonies of Meryl and Fiem to secede. Upon the completion of the bills signing the leaders headed back towards their respective colonies and communication was disconnected. With no communication, the two colonies slowly faded out of the public eye.
Behind the Scenes
During the journey back from the independence signing on 1147G.C, the two brothers drafted and signed a joint bill which would bring the two colonies of Meryl and Fiem under a single governance with the two of them retaining equal power. For the following years, the siblings continued to brew mistrust and hatred for the Unanian Empire through lies and deceit. In their wake, they executed several high members of society under the claim of Unanian Intervention and imprisoned members of government under the guise of Unanian subterfuge. Come 1155G.C the pair had succeeded in breeding mistrust of the Unanian Empire amongst the populace and with a majority of politicians either behind bars or executed they quickly took advantage of the situation to move the empire towards a dual-dictatorship under the guise of ensuring no more Unanian interference.
