Crusader Power Armor is possibly the most advanced power armor system in the Galaxy, essentially turning the wearer into a Walking Tank. Virtually immune to small arms fire, machine guns, rifles, pistol are all but useless and even grenades can do naught but scratch it. Crusader Power Armor is possibly the most advanced power armor system in the Galaxy, essentially turning the wearer into a Walking Tank. Virtually immune to small arms fire, machine guns, rifles, pistol are all but useless and even grenades can do naught but scratch it. The Advanced systems are only known and understood by the Techno-Priests who maintain them and keep them in working order.
Capabilities
The Armor enhances the movements of the wearer, beyond the average Human, though the Control of the suit is difficult for non-Crusaders and major discipline is required to gain the same affects, but even those pale in comparison to a true Crusader.
- Major Protection of Vital areas
- Environmentally sealed, Survive extreme Heat, cold, function in vacuum and Zero-gravity
- Advanced Ceramic Plating, creation is highly guarded secret- nullifies small arms fire, nullifying light weapons as a choice against wearers
- Servos and Fiber tubing Musculature for enhanced strength and reaction times.
- Power pack, Micro-reactor + Energy storage, capable of charging through Solar energy for extended use
- Oxygen Recycling, fluid recycling.
- Modular Design allows for easy replacement of parts
- Advanced Neural Interface, allows for maximum control as if the suit were ones body (Crusaders only)
- Advanced Targeting, Can interface with weapons for maximum accuracy and adaptation
- Newer Versions remove more weak point while keeping same mobility and protection, Notably Neck
After Re-Emergence from the Second Warp Bubble Dimension, the 500 year Period has seen drastic Modifications in terms of Crusader Armor efficiency, Generally this means a lighter version of the Armor with all the same protection. The Newer Models rely a bit more on deflection, and cannot take as much direct punishment, the lighter armor though grants more mobility and the chances of defecting oncoming weapons increases. Older models however are still used and improved upon, and the heavier and lighter models are a matter of preference.
History
Crusader Armor has its origins in the Crusader Development Program itself, with the teams dedicated to developing the soldiers themselves the other teams dedicated to outfitting them to fight the evils of the galaxy had another problem altogether. They needed to decide how to best to equip them for the tasks they had to accomplish, this question alone decided how the armor would come to be developed.
When it came to designing the armor they needed to afford the most protection possible to the Crusaders, as they would come to be known. The Armor needed to be something above and beyond the standard troop armor, they needed to make common weapons obsolete, and be able to protect against more advanced weapons from Enemies known and unknown. How to accomplish this was debated, due to technological limits and the need for an effective long lasting protection that was dependable regardless of conditions. The debate was shielding versus Armor, or how to compromise between the two. In the end Shielding proved to be out of the question technologically and economically, The switch to Laser Weaponry already strained them as well as the production of other technologies, and armor was already within their scope to perfect and work with. It however was always intended to give the Crusaders a Shield generating system incorporated into their armor, something other Empires have had more success with, though at the cost of less effective armor, this fact is little known but to those versed in the history of the ordeal the facts are apparent, shielding while a boon would be too expensive and even then prone to failure in many situations the Crusaders could find themselves in such as Bombarded with Radiation and Electro-Magnetic Waves that can fry shielding systems.
